What is deburring?

Deburring, also known as deburring, is the process of removing sharp edges and excess material from metal. It is a finishing process that is often added after laser cutting. The intense laser beam used in laser cutting causes sharp burrs to form on the underside of the metal. A burr is a small, raised edge that is usually found around the cut edges. Deburring – or edge breaking, as it is also called – removes these rough edges and gives the metal a smooth finish.
