Safe, sustainable and flexible – these characteristics are becoming increasingly important in today's concrete construction industry for the competitiveness of companies and the success of projects. Above all, these are the characteristics that define the new wall formwork developed by Hendriks. Replacing traditional wall formwork with an advanced, modular system not only improves safety but also efficiency on the construction site.
Detailed plans
The new wall formwork will replace the existing formwork, which is available for purchase and hire. The switch will not happen overnight. "We have a detailed plan for the new wall formwork. The plans for a new, ergonomic and intrinsically safe formwork have been developed in collaboration with one of our customers and have been assessed by a Notified Body," says technical manager Wiebe van der Wal, who is leading the development process. "In short development sprints, we will continue to develop, produce, test and prepare the formwork for the market using an iterative process."
Intrinsically safe
The result is wall formwork that is completely dummy-proof and intrinsically safe. Wiebe van der Wal explains: "The formwork incorporates various integrated safety features, ensuring that future users will not only enjoy working with it, but will also be able to do so safely at all times. Walk-through hatches, fencing, stairs, etc. have been integrated into the design as much as possible."
Modular design for maximum flexibility
Hendriks' new wall formwork is modular in design. Wiebe van de Wal: "The new formwork therefore offers a solution to the growing demand for adaptable and cost-effective construction solutions. By integrating safety features such as walk-through hatches, fencing and stairs, Hendriks demonstrates that it is possible to design a user-friendly system that does not compromise on safety. What's more, we are able to offer maximum flexibility with as few parts as possible."
Wiebe continues: "We have now completed our first internal workshop on the new development process. The enthusiastic reception of the new system by engineers and production staff is more than encouraging. The prospect of pilot projects in early 2025 offers an exciting opportunity to demonstrate the practical applicability and advantages of the new wall formwork."
