New to the Hendriks group is Hendriks service & maintenance, where everything revolves around providing high-quality maintenance and repair services to our customers. This new department has been set up to take care of everything for companies that use moulds, circulation systems and formwork systems. The first test at one of our customers is already scheduled. In this interview, Luco Huisman, service and maintenance manager, talks about the objectives, the importance of this service and the added value for our customers.

But first, let's meet a man who has had a passion for technology since he was a child. "I was already interested in technology when I was young: from building huts to electrical work that caused the fuses in the cupboard to blow. Studying construction engineering was therefore a logical choice. I graduated in project management and went on to supervise various projects. That's how I developed an interest in and love for business processes. It was also the reason why I decided to take an additional course in business administration. I find the combination of technology and process very fascinating."

With a background in the precast concrete industry, Luco Huisman is no stranger to the world of concrete and formwork systems. For the past eight years, he worked at Heembeton, where he was involved in the production of hollow core slabs and precast concrete walls. There, he managed project management and engineering and worked on process optimisation. His business administration training is now proving invaluable in setting up the new department. "At Hendriks service & maintenance, I can use my experience and knowledge to streamline processes and ensure that we work efficiently and in a customer-focused manner."

Taking care of everything for our customers

Hendriks service & maintenance focuses on existing customers who have already purchased moulds, circulation systems or formwork systems. "It's all about taking care of our customers," he explains. "The moulds, circulation systems or formwork systems are essential to their business operations, but maintaining them requires specialised knowledge. That's exactly where we come in."

The new service provides a structural solution for the maintenance of the moulds. Where companies often lack the internal expertise to maintain these systems, Hendriks service & maintenance offers the option of taking care of this entirely. "Our customers want to focus on pouring concrete and not worry about maintenance. We ensure that the moulds are always in optimal condition."

Hendriks service & maintenance has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of moulds, circulation systems and formwork systems. "We have everything in-house to advise our customers and help them use their systems longer and more efficiently. In addition, we can carry out preventive maintenance, such as the timely replacement of parts. This prevents downtime and saves our customers costs in the long term."

Focus on customer needs

The needs of our customers are central to the development of this new service. In fact, the demand for this service originated from our customers themselves. Our customers don't want to worry about their moulds," says Luco Huisman. "They are looking for a reliable partner who can advise and support them. Our inspection reports give them insight into the condition of their moulds, and we advise them on the measures needed to extend their service life."

Hendriks service & maintenance not only looks at technical maintenance, but also at safety. "Incorrect use of moulds can lead to safety issues. We ensure that our customers can work safely by checking that the systems are being used correctly and that there are no safety risks."

Key to success

In addition, Hendriks service & maintenance offers the possibility of cost savings through a preventive approach. Setting up a thorough maintenance structure is essential for this. "We schedule periodic inspections and carry out preventive maintenance to avoid repairs. This can vary from monthly to annual checks, depending on the use of the moulds," says Luco Huisman. "By carrying out maintenance and replacing parts in a timely manner, our customers can prevent breakdowns and downtime. In addition, we can advise our customers on how they can carry out certain tasks themselves. This saves them on repair costs. In this way, 'peace of mind' really means something – and that is the key to our success."

First test scheduled

The introduction of Hendriks service & maintenance is being carried out carefully and in consultation with our customers. "We are going to carry out an initial test with one of our customers and work together to find the best approach," he explains. "It is important that we respond effectively to our customers' wishes so that the implementation process runs smoothly." Communication is key in this regard. "I believe it is important to communicate openly and transparently, both with the team and with our customers. It is essential to be clear about what we are going to do, when we are going to do it, and to take our customer's payment schedule into account."

When asked about the future, Luco enthusiastically replies: "In a year's time, I want to see that we have successfully rolled out this service and that our customers are completely taken care of. That we have become a reliable partner in the field of service and maintenance, and that we can help our customers to work as efficiently and safely as possible."
